Mobile application developer skyrockit this morning announced that it has raised $2.6 million in new funding from Intel Capital with participation from Asuka DBJ Partners and former Linden Lab CEO Mark Kingdon. skyrockit plans to use the additional capital to boost its existing entertainment products and services, which includes the virtual Zippo Lighter for the iPhone, and develop new applications. The company works for carriers such as AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, handset manufacturers, media companies and brands.
